I did it again I pre-judged a book on the amount of hype it has been getting from ... everyone. I did it with Harry Potter and now I've done it with the Da Vinci Code. The book was awesome. Beautifully written and yet not to analytical or discriptive... good dialogue and chatacter interactions which is everything in my humble opinion. I can't stand when you read a book and the characters don't come alive in your imagination because they are poorly written. And every really good book has to have a character that you just instantaneously like whether he/she is good or evil or somewhere in between in this one my favourite character ended up being the criminal mastermind but thats okay I still like him.
I also read Angels and Demons which was really good if more than a little unbelievable. I mean I have no problem with the fact that what is going on is highly unlikely and very doubtful... I mean it's fiction not reality... but even still I think that good general fiction should have that plausibility....... it COULD happen even if it's not going to happen and I just didn't get that feel with this book.
Digital Fortress which I also read in this weekend was ok but nothing really special... it had interesting characters and a fairly decent plot but after reading the other two it just didn't spark that much of an interest.Current Mood: accomplished
